MATTHEW SHAPIRO

Matthew Shapiro is a Managing Director and Financial Advisor at Northeast Private Wealth Management. In his role, Matthew provides tailored investment and wealth planning advice to individuals, families, and entrepreneurs. Matthew has experience in pre-transaction planning for the sale of a business as well as complex Estate planning structures. Matthew also contributes to the Investment Team’s research efforts focusing on the Core portfolio as well as Alternative strategies. Prior to joining the firm, Matthew spent the previous eleven years at Alliance Bernstein from 2008 – 2019 as an advisor to family offices, business owners, high net worth clients and philanthropic organizations. Prior to that, he worked for the CFO as VP of Capital Markets for Capital Trust, a publicly traded real estate finance company founded by Sam Zell and began his career in the investment banking group of Bear Stearns & Co. Matthew earned a BS, cum laude, in economics from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. Matthew is active in his neighborhood in Manhattan serving on the Lenox Hill Hospital New Leadership Board. He serves on the Leadership Council of the Ethical Culture Fieldston School where his children attend. He is also on the Associate Board of the Council for Economic Education. Matthew and his wife, Lindsey, live on the Upper East Side with their daughter, Sloan, son, Drew, and dog, Dixie.
